Panaretella distincta is a spider species in the family Sparassidae.[2] It is endemic to South Africa and is commonly known as the East London panaretella huntsman spider.[3]
Panaretella distincta is found in the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal provinces. The species has been sampled from East London, Port St. Johns, Kei River Mouth, Vernon Crookes Nature Reserve, Mkhuze Game Reserve, and Eshowe. It occurs at altitudes ranging from 52 to 485 m.[3]
Habitat and ecology
Panaretella distincta is a free-living plant dweller sampled from the Indian Ocean Coastal Belt, Savanna, and Thicket biomes.[3]
