Panopea glycimeris

Shells of Panopea glycimeris can reach a size of 250–295 millimetres (9.8–11.6 in).^[4] The two valves are similars and have a rusty appearance. The diameter of the siphonal apertures ranges between 5 and 7 centimetres (2.0 and 2.8 in).^[5]

This species can be found in the Mediterranean Sea and in the Northwestern coast of Africa, on sand bottom at depths of 10 to 100 metres (33 to 328 ft). It is actually rare in the Mediterranean Sea.^[2][5][6][7]
