Plot

Parade has four chapters,[4] of roughly equal length.[1] They are titled "The Stuntman", "The Midwife", "The Diver", and "The Spy". The story follows an unnamed narrator that visits art exhibitions in Europe and thinks about several artists all referred to as "G".[4]

Reception

Patricia Zohn, writing for Air Mail, said even "fans" of Cusk would "be daunted" by the novel.[5] Dwight Garner referred to the novel as "skippable for all but [Cusk's] most devoted tier of readers".[6]
