Paul Webster MacAvoy (April 21, 1934 – February 24, 2016) was an American economist and expert on regulatory policy.
MacAvoy was born on April 21, 1934, in Haverhill, Massachusetts. He received his bachelor's degree from Bates College in 1955 and received his master's degree and Ph.D. from Yale University in 1956 and 1960, respectively.[1]
