Caroline Sullivan from The Guardian complimented the debut album as "an appealing collage of pop and dramatic funk. Henry turns her massive voice to house ('Revolution'), Aretha-ish gospel ('Too Many People') and cocktail-hour soul ('Now I've Been to Paradise') with equal aplomb."[1] Claire Armitt from Smash Hits gave it a top score of five out of five and named it "a brilliant debut album".[4] David Toop from The Times wrote, "Now a soloist, [Pauline Henry] is recording songs with more substance than the near-exhausted formula of wailing a soulful vocal over a danceable groove. She has drawn from 25 tracks for her first solo venture. There is a strong 1970s feel with a contemporary edge, particularly on the old hit 'Feel Like Making Love', and Ian Levine's bouncy disco production of 'I've Got a Feeling'."[5]
