Pemphigus (Pemphigus) matsumurai is a species of gall-forming aphid, in the subgenus, Pemphigus, of the genus, Pemphigus.[1][2] It was first described in 1927 by the Japanese entomologist Kota Monzen.[2][3] Some authorities consider it a synonym of Pemphigus (Pemphigus) niishimae.[1] Others do not.[4][5] The species epithet, mutsumurai, honours the Japanese entomologist Shōnen Matsumura.
It is found on the Korean Peninsula,[4] in Japan,[6][3] China,[6][7][8] Siberia,[2] and possibly elsewhere.
