The Petty Sessions (Ireland) Act 1851[a] (14 & 15 Vict. c. 93) is an act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that consolidated enactments related to proceedings at petty sessions and the duties of justices of the peace out of quarter sessions in Ireland.[1]

Repealed enactments

Section 43 of the act repealed 4 enactments, listed in that section, together with all other acts and parts of acts inconsistent with its provisions.[2]

Subsequent developments

Following the partition of Ireland in 1922, the act has continued in force in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, where it has been subject to further amendment by the legislatures of each jurisdiction.
