The municipality lies at an altitude of 559 metres (1,834 ft)^[2] and covers an area of 19.29 km² (7.45 sq mi) (2025).^[4]

It has a population of 1338 people (31 December 2025).^[6]

In year 2021 was 1304 people by ethnicity 1260 as Slovak, 50 as Not found out, 6 as Czech, 3 as Other, 1 as Russian and 1 as Canadian.
