Popstar is the eighth studio album by Russian singer Instasamka, released on December 16, 2022, through NaMneCash Music.[1] The album was entirely produced by Instasamka’s husband, Moneyken.
The album includes three singles: "Popstar", "Volosy Nazad" ("Hair Back"), and "Za dengi da" ("For Money, Yes"). Two of these tracks received official music videos and entered the Lithuanian Single Top 100 chart.[2][3][4][5] The song "Kak Mommy" ("Like Mommy") also entered the Lithuanian chart, peaking at number 12.[clarification needed]
A spring tour in Russia, initially announced for 2023,[6] was postponed after several concerts in cities such as Volgograd and Sochi were canceled by local authorities, who claimed that the artist had "violated Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code". Instasamka’s concert in Riga was also canceled in April 2023 after Latvia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkēvičs added her to the country’s blacklist, banning her entry indefinitely.[7]
