Prep Edu is an AI-powered language learning, teaching, and testing platform.[1][2][3] It was founded in 2021 by Phạm Quang Tú.[4]

History
In 2021, Prep Edu launched as an online platform for language learning and test preparation and introduced IELTS preparation courses.[5] A year later, Prep Edu introduced PREP AI Virtual Speaking Room and launched TOEIC Listening & Reading preparation programs.
In 2023, Prep Edu launched PREP AI Virtual Writing Room and added the Interactive Video feature. They introduced TOEIC Speaking & Writing preparation programs and launched Prep HSK (for Chinese proficiency test preparation) and PrepTalk - Communication and Business English in 2024.[6]
In 2025, Prep Edu presented the Exam Platform for businesses and educational institutions. They also expanded operations to Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, and South Korea.[7]

Prep Edu's AI features focus on accuracy and personalized learning support:
- Virtual Speaking Room and Virtual Writing Room: Two features are designed as self-study environments where learners can practice speaking and writing skills independently. These virtual rooms provide instant, detailed feedback, clearly highlight strengths and weaknesses in each response, and offer specific suggestions for improvement.[7]
- Teacher Bee AI: A personalized AI Tutor that provides 24/7 support throughout the learning journey. It helps learners by answering questions, quickly summarizing lessons, and supporting students anytime they need additional guidance.[5]
- AI Scoring & Feedback: Powered by proprietary AI technology, this feature delivers accurate scoring and comprehensive feedback on grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. It helps learners track their performance more effectively and make consistent daily progress.[8]
- Study Plan: This feature generates a personalized study plan tailored to each learner's level and goals. By taking individual learning needs into account, it supports a clear, manageable, and consistently effective study experience.[2]

- Education Impact Award and the Education Innovation Award at the SEI Awards 2023, by Vietnam Institute for Innovation and Digital Transformation.[9]
- Most Promising and Pioneering AI-powered Application in Education Award, as announced by EdTech Asia. At the EdTech Asia Summit 2023, Phạm Quang Tú, the CEO of Prep Edu, had a speech in a session titled "Navigating Vietnam’s Education Ecosystem: Opportunities and Challenges for Business".[10]

In 2022, Prep Edu announced a US$1 million investment from Touchstone Partners.[19] In 2023, Prep Edu announced a US$1 million investment from Cercano Management and East Ventures.[20] In 2024, Prep Edu announced a US$7 million Series A round involving Cercano Management and Northstar Ventures.[21]
