Pushing the World Away is the Grammy-nominated,[1] critically acclaimed fourteenth studio album by Kenny Garrett, released on September 17, 2013, on Mack Avenue Records. The album peaked at number 6 on the Billboard Traditional Jazz Albums chart. Featured musicians include keyboardists Vernell Brown and Benito Gonzalez, percussionist Rudy Bird, bassist Corcoran Holt and drummers Marcus Baylor, McClenty Hunter, and Mark Whitfield Jr.
