Qatar is scheduled to compete in the 2017 Asian Winter Games in Sapporo and Obihiro, Japan from February 19 to 26.[1][2]

Qatar is scheduled to compete in three sports.[3] After competing in speed skating in its debut at the 2011 Games, this will mark the country's debut in all three sports it contests at this edition: curling, hockey and short track speed skating.[4] Qatar's team will consist of 32 athletes.[5]
On February 19, 2017 it was announced that ice hockey player Thamer Al Mohannadi would be the country's flagbearer during the parade of nations at the opening ceremony.[6]

Qatar has entered a men's team. The team will compete in the Division two.[10][11] Qatar finished in seventh place (17th place overall) in division 2 of the competition.[12]
