Rape in Taiwan
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rape in Taiwan is sexual assault involving sexual penetration carried out against a person without their consent in the nation. Victims and perpetrators include Taiwan citizens, residents, and foreign nationals from a wide range of backgrounds and every social class.[1][2][3]
Victims, some who are lured into sex trafficking in Taiwan, are raped in hotels and other locations throughout the country.[4][5][6][7][8] There have been women deceived by perpetrators in fake modeling photoshoots.[9][10] Some are victims of drugging,[11][12] kidnapping,[13] gang rape, torture, murder,[14] and sexual slavery. Rapes involving alcohol have occurred.[15] Victims suffer from physical and psychological trauma, ostracization, and, at times, suicide.[16] Rapes and attempted rapes have been committed by students,[17] teachers,[18] artists,[19] television personalities,[20] spa and massage workers,[21] medical staff, Taiwan military personnel,[22][23] and others.
