Rashard Lawrence (born August 27, 1998) is an American professional football nose tackle for the Houston Gamblers of the United Football League (UFL). He played college football for the LSU Tigers and was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL draft.
Lawrence attended Neville High School in Monroe, Louisiana. He was selected to play in the 2016 Under Armour All-America Game, but did not play due to injury.[1] A five-star recruit, he committed to Louisiana State University (LSU) to play college football.[2][3]
College career
As a true freshman at LSU in 2016, Lawrence played in nine games and had six tackles and one sack.[4] He became a starter his sophomore year in 2017.[5] He started 10 games, recording 32 tackles and 1.5 sacks.[6] As a junior in 2018 he started all 13 games, finishing with 54 tackles and four sacks.[7] He was named the MVP of the 2019 Fiesta Bowl after recording two sacks.[8] Lawrence returned to LSU for his senior year in 2019, rather than enter the 2019 NFL draft.[9][10]
