Ray Joseph Lucia Jr. is an American wealth management executive and the chief executive officer of Lucia Capital Group, a financial advisory firm based in San Diego, California.[1][2][3][4]

Career
Lucia founded and became the chief executive officer of Lucia Capital Group, an independent wealth management firm headquartered in San Diego.[5] In 2014, the firm had over 70 employees, $2.1 billion in client assets, and 16 branch offices around the country.[6][7][8]
Under Lucia's leadership, the firm also operated a broker-dealer called Lucia Securities. In April 2020, LPL Financial, one of the largest independent broker-dealers in the United States, announced it had signed an agreement to acquire Lucia Securities.[9] The transaction was structured as an asset purchase and included approximately 20 advisors managing $1.5 billion in client assets.[10] The acquisition closed in August 2020, with all advisors joining LPL and continuing to operate as Lucia Capital Group.[9] Lucia Capital Group was named Business of the Year, Medium Company in 2024 by the North San Diego Business Chamber.[11]
Lucia also operates The Bucket Strategy Advisor Network, a coaching program that trains independent financial advisors on a liability-driven investment model.[5] In 2022, Lucia Capital Group relocated its headquarters to Rancho Bernardo, California.[12]
Community involvement
In 2024, Lucia participated in the Rancho Bernardo Rotary Club's "Vines & Vittles" festival, a community event supporting local charities.[13]
Personal life
Lucia is the son of financial advisor, author, and radio host Ray Lucia Sr.[14] He resides in the San Diego area.[15]
