Release and promotion
The song was prominently featured in Madonna's musical short film Confessions II, which was released before the song was made available on streaming services.[3] A special shortened version of the song was released as part of the bonus edition for the Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album.[4]
Critical reception
The song received mixed reviews upon release. Rolling Stone positively commented on the song saying, "Both Madonna and Feid retain the essence of their signature styles while also exploring each other's sonic universes. The result is a fresh, balanced, and natural collaboration that takes them out of their comfort zones without losing their artistic identity".[5] HOLA described the "dance floor-ready" song as "the perfect fusion of energies".[6] Billboard was rather mixed, stating, "This one doesn’t seem likely to be an eventual fan favorite, but does its job in terms of the album’s overall tone-setting, and on a strong project, that’s enough".[7]
Far Out Magazine criticized the song, saying "it feels like the rhythm and melody have no idea that the other actually exist".[8] Consequence said the song "can’t save itself from being a stereotypical ‘boy, bye’ clap-back".[9]
