Robert Evans (1 July 1960 − 9 February 2024) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Coburg in the Victorian Football Association.[1] He also played a single game for Footscray in the Victorian Football League.
Evans joined Coburg in 1984, and was the club's best-and-fairest winner in his second season in 1985.[2] Although originally a full-forward, he was later moved to full-back by coach Phil Cleary.[2] Evans missed Coburg's 1988 premiership due to suspension, but he was part of the winning 1989 team.[3]
Evans left Coburg in 1991 to join West Australian Football League club Subiaco, playing 14 games.[4]
Evans returned to Coburg in 1998 as president, and was credited with saving the club from going under by orchestrating an alignment with Australian Football League club Richmond in 2001.[5]
