Ruslan Sergeyevich Sorokin (Belarusian: Руслан Сяргеевіч Сарокін; born 27 February 1979) is a Belarusian-Russian television producer, screenwriter and director.

Sorokin was in an unregistered marriage with actress Mariya Zykova. On 6 November 2010, the couple had a daughter named Mirra.

Professional career

Education and early career

From 1996 to 2001 and again in 2006, Sorokin studied at the Faculty of Physics of Francysk Skaryna Gomel State University[1].

Between 1996 and 2003, he worked at the Belarusian regional television channel «Gomelskaye Telebachenne» as a computer graphics designer, producer of entertainment programs, and author and host of a morning show. He also worked as a DJ and author of entertainment shows on regional radio.

From 1996 to 2003, he was active in KVN, serving as an author and actor for the teams «Belarusian Station» and «Belarusian Team» (broadcast on Channel One Russia).

Career in Russia

Sorokin moved to Russia in 2003, working as a screenwriter and editor-in-chief at REN TV (2003–2005). Subsequently, he worked as a screenwriter at REN-Film (2005–2006) and as a creative producer at KinoKonstanta (2006–2007).

In 2007, he became a producer at Channel One Russia's special projects directorate. From 2008 to 2014, he founded and produced the company Sreda. In 2014–2015, he served as executive producer at CTC Media[2].

Since 2015, he has been a producer for the companies Nautilus Media and Sputnik-Vostok. In 2016, he founded Twenty Seven Studio[3].
