Sade Elhawary

Zeinab Sade Elhawary[2] is an American politician and community organizer who is a member of the California State Assembly representing the 57th district. A member of the Democratic Party, Elhawary previously worked as an educator and for Mayor Karen Bass.[3]

Early life and education
Elhawary was born in Los Angeles to immigrant parents. She is half-Guatemalan and half-Egyptian.[4] She received her bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and her master's degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.[5]
Personal life
Elhawary is a foster mother and resides in South Central Los Angeles.[6] She is bisexual.[5]
