Sam Guobadia is a Nigerian professor of economics and educational administrator.[1] He is the sixth substantive Vice Chancellor of Benson Idahosa University.[2][3]

Guobadia was born on April 25, 1954, in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the University of Benin in 1977, a Master of Science degree in economics from the University of Lagos in 1981, and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Benin in 1987.[citation needed]
Career
Guobadia began his academic career as a lecturer at the University of Benin in 1982, where he taught economics for several years. He later became the Head of the Department of Economics and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences. In 2014, he was appointed Deputy Vice Chancellor of Benson Idahosa University, and in 2018, he became the sixth substantive Vice Chancellor of the university.[citation needed]
