Saraga Höyük

The settlement begins in the Late Chalcolithic.

In the Middle Bronze IIA (MB IIA), Saraga Höyük flourished and saw its zenith. The site was near the major site of Carchemish in the south and Lidar Höyük nearby.

The site has yielded important examples of two pottery kilns,^[2] producing pottery spread along the Euphrates River Valley. There is a large quantity of pithos with grooved rim found along the Euphrates River from Saraga Höyük to Haradum, locally produced at Saraga Höyük.

In the Late Bronze Age, there was a sacral monumental structure rebuilt several times.^[3]

In the Iron Age, there are figurines Euphrates Handmade Syrian Horses and Riders from this region.
