Sardar Fakhre Alam

Alam was born in 1929 in Peshawar, then part of British India. He obtained his bachelor of laws (LLB) degree from the Law College, University of the Punjab, in 1951.^[2]

Alam began his legal career and held several government positions. He was appointed Assistant Advocate General of West Pakistan in 1967 and promoted to Additional Advocate General in 1968.^[2]

In 1970, he became Advocate General of the North-West Frontier Province (now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) serving in that role until 1973.^[2]

He was elevated to the bench as an additional judge of the Peshawar High Court on 26 January 1977 and was later appointed as a permanent judge. In 1984, he was appointed as a judge of the Federal Shariat Court.^[2]

Alam later served as Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court. He also held the position of Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan during his career.^[2]
