Sean Ethan Findlay (born 5 December 2001)[1] is a New Zealand field hockey player, who plays as a midfielder.[2]

Personal life

Sean Findlay was born and raised in the Hawke's Bay town of Taradale, New Zealand, he attended Taradale High School.[3][2] His sister, Emma, also plays field hockey for New Zealand.[4][5] His twins sister Greer [Wikidata] and Hannah [Wikidata] also is an international hockey player at 2025 Junior Oceania Cup.[5][6]

Career

National teams

Under-21

Findlay debuted for the New Zealand U–21 team in 2019 at the Sultan of Johor Cup in Johor Bahru.[7]

He was named in the 2021 squad for the FIH Junior World Cup to be held in India.[8]

Black Sticks

In December 2020, Findlay was named in the Black Sticks squad for the first time.[9]

Findlay made his debut for the national team in 2021, during a test series against Australia in Palmerston North.[7] He also scored a goal in his debut match.[10][11]
