Shashi Kant Sharma is a retired 1976 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre. He was the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.[1][2] In July 2014 he assumed office as a Member of the United Nations Board of Auditors.[3] On 11 January 2017, Sharma took over as the Chairman of the United Nations Board of Auditors.[4] The reports of the Board serve as a key input for policy making within the UN.[5][6][7]
