Shawn Fedorchuk

Fedorchuk was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In the 1990s, he was the vocalist, guitarist, and co-founder of the Winnipeg noise rock band Kittens. The band released several albums on the Sonic Unyon label and was known for its intense live performances. It was active from 1992 to 1998 and later reunited for two shows in 2006.^[2][3][4][5]

In the mid to late 2000s, Fedorchuk worked on opening title sequences for several television series. His credits include The Grid (2004) as title designer and True Blood (2008) as editor of the opening titles. These projects earned him Emmy nominations.^[6][7][8][9]

Beginning in the mid-2000s, Fedorchuk directed extreme horror films under the name Lucifer Valentine. His first feature, Slaughtered Vomit Dolls (2006), was followed by ReGOREgitated Sacrifice (2008) and Slow Torture Puke Chamber (2010). These three films are known as the Vomit Gore Trilogy and were released on DVD by Unearthed Films.^[10][11] Later works include Black Metal Veins (2012), A Perfect Child of Satan (2012), Black Mass of the Nazi Sex Wizard (2015), and The Angela Chapters (2020).

The films feature experimental, non-linear narratives, heavy use of practical effects, and graphic depictions of violence and body horror. They received limited theatrical screenings and developed a cult following in underground extreme horror circles.

The Vomit Gore films have been noted for their extreme content and polarizing style within underground horror circles. Critical response has generally been negative regarding narrative coherence and levels of graphic violence, while some reviewers in niche publications have highlighted the films’ confrontational aesthetic and practical effects as distinctive within the extreme horror subgenre.^[12]
