Siershahn is an Ortsgemeinde – a community belonging to a Verbandsgemeinde – in the Westerwaldkreis in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.

History
Clay finds from La Tène times have been unearthed here. In 1211, Siershahn had its first documentary mention as Sigarshagen.

Economy and infrastructure
Siershahn's biggest firm, and the one richest in tradition is Cera Tech (formerly Keramchemie), still employing most of the villagers. Nearby, during the Second World War, was a prison camp.
Siershahn has several bypass roads so that heavy vehicles do not drive through the community as they once did.
Transport
The nearest Autobahn interchange is Mogendorf on the A 3 (Cologne–Frankfurt), some 2 km away. Siershahn was once an important railway hub between Limburg, Gießen and Cologne. All passenger services were closed over the years, except for the line to Limburg. The line to Au is used for freight and it is sometimes used for tourist services. The nearest InterCityExpress stop is Montabaur station on the Cologne-Frankfurt high-speed rail line.

Siershahn train station is a station of local train and fright transport in Siershahn in Westerwald district of German state Rhineland-Palatinate
Siershahn train station is located on Engers-Au railway as well as Lower Westerwald Railway.
For public local train service, RB29 line is running from Limburg via Diez Ost and Montabaur to Siershahn.
The section of the Engers-Au railway from Engers to Siershahn is also called "Brexbach valley railway", after its closure a local NGO operated touristic special train service with historic railcars of type VT98, although right now there is no special train service. The section from Siershahn to Altenkirchen (Westerwald) is called "Holzbachtalbahn" and in operation for fright trains.
After its opening, Siershahn station increasingly became an important traffic hub, in which the trains from the surrounding clay pits terminated to transport further goods and passengers to Montabaur. The owners of the clay pits around Siershahn were obligated to build a stone and slab factory in the town, which would have to process two-thirds of the clay. In the factory or only the residents of Siershahn were allowed to work. As a result, the small village grew rapidly.The Siershahn reception building.
The station building of Siershahn is a three-part building, which has been constructed on its side from basalt rubble stone, was a standard building type, typical that time to construct train stations in Westerwald.
It had a gable-fronted, three-story central section, which was bordered on the south side by aeaves-fronted, one-and-a-half-story extension, and to the north, an eaves-fronted goods shed extension.It was flanked. The building had hipped roofs, some with dormer windows. A timber-framed goods shed also was in use, which later has been closed. It had originated on the north gable of the central building. The older part of the building had segmental arched windows, while the brick building had rectangular windows and doors. The windows of the central and southern extensions were later replaced by rectangular windows with red sandstone frames.
About the infrastructure inside Sieshahn station building, there were waiting rooms with ticket- and information as well as luggage counters, a station restaurant in the annex and additional service rooms in Upper floors.
However, nowadays the station building is sold and under private ownership, the signal box has been moved from the station building to the railroad crossing.
The upper floors contained apartments for the railway employees were created. The train station increasingly developed into an important hub for the transport of the famous Westerwald clay from the surrounding clay pits.
