Solomon Ezinwa Onyemaobi Adaelu ⓘ (born 1 January 1972) is a Nigerian politician. He served as a member representing Obingwa/Ugwunagbo/Osisioma federal constituency in the House of Representatives.[1][2][3]

Early life and education
Solomon Ezinwa Onyemaobi Adaelu was born in Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area of Abia State. He attended Community Primary School, Abayi, Aba, for his primary education before proceeding to Ngwa High School, Aba, where he obtained his [West African] School Certificate. He later studied Chemical Engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), where he earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree.[4]
Career
Before entering elective politics, Solomon Ezinwa Onyemaobi Adaelu built a career in engineering, business and private enterprise.
He worked as a chemical engineer and later became involved in business activities, including the establishment and management of companies in the manufacturing and industrial sectors. He was associated with businesses involved in areas such as plastics, packaging and other industrial services.
His professional background in engineering and entrepreneurship preceded his transition into public service and politics.[5][4]
Appointments and public service
Solomon Adaelu served in public office as a member of the Abia State Government. In 2009, he was appointed Commissioner for Public Utilities by Governor Theodore Orji and was later reassigned to the Ministry of Rural Development in 2011.
He served in the state cabinet until 2015, when he resigned to contest for election to the House of Representatives.[6][7][8]
Political career
Solomon Ezinwa Onyemaobi Adaelu began his political career as a member of the House of Representatives representing Osisioma Ngwa/Ugwunagbo/Obingwa Federal Constituency of Abia State.
He was elected in the 2015 general election on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and served in the 8th National Assembly from 2015 to 2019.
During his tenure in the House of Representatives, Adaelu served as Chairman of the House Committee on National Planning and Economic Development. He also participated in legislative debates on economic policy, industrial development and constituency-related matters.
In the 2019 general election, he contested for re-election to the House of Representatives on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) but was not returned.[9][10][11][12].
Legislative activities
During his tenure in the House of Representatives, Solomon Adaelu sponsored a bill seeking stricter penalties for the diversion or misuse of constituency project funds. The bill proposed a five-year prison term for officials found guilty of embezzling constituency project funds.
He also served as Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Information and Communication Technology during the 9th National Assembly.[10][11]
