Awards

In 2011, South Greene High School was named as a Blue Ribbon School, an award that recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools where students perform at very high levels or where significant improvements are being made in students' academic achievement.[2]

For 2011–2012, South Greene High School was named a Tennessee Department of Education "Reward School". Reward Schools are the top 5 percent of schools in the state for performance or the top 5 percent for year-over-year progress.[3] South Greene was awarded for both "performance" and "progress" categories, and is the only high school in Greene County or Greeneville City to have earned that honor.[4]
