South West Hampshire
Future unitary authority area in England

South West Hampshire is a planned unitary authority area in Hampshire, England. It is scheduled to be created in April 2028 as part of ongoing local government reform. It will be formed by a merger of the existing unitary authority of Southampton with the two-tier district of Eastleigh, as well as parts of the New Forest and Test Valley districts including Totton and Hythe.[1] The first councillors will be elected in the 2027 South West Hampshire Council election in May 2027, and the new authority will assume full powers in April 2028.[2]
