Stephanopoides simoni is a species of crab spider in the family Thomisidae. It is found in South America and Central America.[1]
It is named in honor of Eugène Simon.
The species was first described by Eugen von Keyserling in 1880.[2] Over the years, several other species have been synonymized with S. simoni. Browningella browningi was synonymized by Bonaldo & Lise in 2001,[3] Synema jocosum was synonymized by Quintero & Miranda in 2008,[4] and Pyresthesis berlandi was synonymized by Teixeira & Barros in 2015.[5]
