The company was founded in 1912 in Buffalo, New York, USA. In 1940, the headquarters was moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. The company was founded by Raymond G. Stewart and Thomas R. Lippard, who previously ran the Lippard-Stewart Motor Car Company. The Stewart Motor Corporation, capital $250,000, has been formed and financed by T. R. Lippard and R. G. Stewart, formerly connected with the Lippard-Stewart; Motor Car Company. The new concern will manufacture the Stewart truck, a 3,000 pound model, to sell at $1,650, without body. Messrs. Stewart and Lippard resigned from the Lippard-Stewart Motor Car Co. on June 1. Their new company is not related to the Lippard-Stewart Motor Car Co. in any way. [1] The Stewart Motor Corporation, capital $350,000, organized "to manufacture automobiles of all types," has been incorporated by Charles J. Bork, Bernhard L. Fisher, and William F. Strasmer. [2] It mainly produced commercial vehicles, but between 1915 and 1916, passenger cars were also made. The brand name was Stewart. Stewart used a variety of engine manufacturers for his vehicles. Models 7, 8, 9, and 10 had Continental engines. Model 11 had a Le Roi engine. Model 12 had a Herschell-Spielman engine. Models 14 and 15 got Buda engines. 1930 was the best year with 2,315 trucks sold. Stewart had over 400 distributors in US and was sold in 56 foreign countrys.[3] A good example for global distribution is China, which ordered 40 trucks in 1929.[4] Production ended in 1941.

Production models

The pre-assigned serial numbers only indicate the maximum possible production quantity.

The marking with an X in the model designation is an indicator that a six-cylinder engine is installed.
