Stewart Ogilvie

Ogilvie boxed out of the Camperdown Amateur Boxing Club in Dundee.^[3]

He represented the Scottish Commonwealth Games team^[4] at the 1970 British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, Scotland,^[5][6] participating in the bantamweight category.^[7] He won the bronze medal after beating Pakistan's Ghulan Sarwar in the preliminary round and Canada's Joe Cooke in the quarter-final round but lost to eventual winner Sulley Shittu in the semi-final bout.^[8]

In early 1974, Ogilvie attended a second Commonwealth Games when being selected for the Scottish team for the 1974 British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch, New Zealand, where he competed in the bantamweight division.^[1] Shortly after the Games in May 1974, he won the prestigious ABA Championships at the Empire Pool, Wembley.^[9][10]

Ogilvie retained his ABA title in 1975.^[11] Ogivlie died on 8 October 2019.^[2]
