Syngman Rhee TV

South Korean New Right YouTube channel From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Syngman Rhee TV (Korean: 이승만TV; Hanja: 李承晩TV)[1] is a South Korean New Right YouTube channel based in Seoul. Headed by economist Lee Young-hoon, the channel broadcasts lectures delivered by faculty members of the Syngman Rhee School [ko], an institution named after Syngman Rhee, the first president of South Korea.[2]

The channel's stated mission is economic reconstruction, the realization of democracy, and overcoming Anti-Japan Tribalism, maintaining a generally conservative editorial stance.[3] As of 2019, Japanese content on the channel was provided through subtitles rather than dubbing. To support operations, Lee aimed to recruit 1,000 paying members, each contributing a monthly fee of 10,000 KRW.[4]

In April 2025, American scholar of Korean studies B. R. Myers appeared on the channel during an academic symposium on the book Anti-Japan Tribalism: History Insurrection (반일 종족의 역사 내란; 反日 種族의 歷史 內亂), where he criticized the "anti-Japanese racism" (반일 종족주의; 反日 種族主義)[5][6] preval‎ent among the South Korean political left.[7]
