– There is no other township in Kansas named any of these names, so having the county name in the title is unnecessary. 2600:1700:6180:6290:DDE:4B30:11F3:FB21 (talk) 12:19, 26 July 2025 (UTC)  Relisting. Cactus🌵 spiky ouch 12:44, 2 August 2025 (UTC)  Relisting. TarnishedPathtalk 14:02, 9 August 2025 (UTC)

  • Oppose: 1) Low populated rural townships aren't generally known by most people, and I would bet that a very high percentage of people don't know which county a township belongs. 2) Renaming some townships articles of a county, but not renaming other townships articles provides zero useful benefits. 3) The current method used by the IP editor to rename these articles is a major problem, because script/bot edits are hidden from numerous editors that have their "watch list" filters set to filter out bot edits, and BTW this happened to me for this change request. This means using script/bot tools allows editors to do sneaky article renaming behind the backs of far too many editors, and I believe this practice should be stopped or changed. 4) In general, it is very suspicious for any "named account user" to hide behind scripts/bots as an "anonymous IP editor" to request article renaming. Doing this as an "anonymous IP editor" prevents such activities from being tied or tracked to their "named account", which is very concerning! If these activities aren't being done with their "named account", then it prevents other editors, like me, from leaving comments on the talk page of their "named account", as well as not seeing their history of doing such things. • SbmeirowTalk • 13:08, 2 August 2025 (UTC)
If it is true that "a very high percentage of people don't know which county a township belongs" to, then it seems like we should support this proposal, because it would mean that people would be able to type the names of the articles without knowing what counties these townships are in. Once they have found the articles, they will find that information provided in it, to help them learn this and other things about the townships. — BarrelProof (talk) 15:36, 9 August 2025 (UTC)
That would be useful if 100% of the townships had unique names across all counties in Kansas, but they don't. Lots of duplicate township names. • SbmeirowTalk • 04:17, 10 August 2025 (UTC)
