Have an image for one of your articles

Jarrad Searby
Zarah Garde-Wilson (right, with husband-at-the-time Lansley "Lucky Lance" Simon)

To thank you for your work on DYK, I added an image to one of the articles you have listed on your user page. I do that sometimes. Even if currently that work seems to have us currently arguing in opposition, I appreciate the effort you put in, and recognize that we are, after all, on the same side, that of making the world's single greatest source of knowledge. Hope you like. I especially appreciate that in this particular article, you originally nominated it for deletion, then when that failed, not only did not sulk and continue to work against the article, instead improved it to the point where you are now are nominating it for Wikipedia:Good article. That's just a wonderful example of Wikipedia spirit. --GRuban (talk) 16:42, 13 March 2026 (UTC)

I would possibly have added more, but I could only look for those you have listed under "works in progress", and my "hit rate" for finding free images for articles is only about 10%; do you have a longer list of articles you feel ... interested in... somewhere? For a brief happy moment I thought I had found one for Monica Smit, but quickly realized it was Monika Smith... so it goes. --GRuban (talk) 16:48, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
@GRuban, cheers and thanks for finding that. I've found The Unshackled to be a good source for finding images of some of the people I write about.
Some articles I have worked on, where I have been unable to find CC licensed images for them include:

On phone now, but when I get back to my PC, you'll be glad ... --00:46, 14 March 2026 (UTC) GRuban (talk) 00:46, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
All right, let's make that I hope you'll be glad, as now that I uploaded them, I see they are, respectively, each blurrier than the last. I still think they're better than none, as each person is visually identifiable. But if you disagree, and remove either from the article, I won't complain, since the goal is, after all, to make you glad. Carry on. I gotta say, mate, you do seem to have a theme to your articles: Australian people of a ... certain caliber!
Oh, and do say if you'll accept my RSN suggestion of backing up every Nala Ray non-innocuous video interview cite with two unrelated video interview cites; that should make it quite clear they weren't edited? If not, then not, the most important bits in article don't depend on the WP:ABOUTSELF parts anyway, as they shouldn't; but they do make the article noticeably more complete, IMHO. --GRuban (talk) 02:26, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
@GRuban on my phone at present. i'll have a look at your suggestion when I get home. Thinking logically though, without having looked at anything, if you have RS verifying what's in the videos, why wouldn't you just use those? TarnishedPathtalk 02:48, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
@GRuban Regarding the people I write about, you're correct, I mosty write about polarising figures. TarnishedPathtalk 02:54, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
@GRuban, thanks for locating the images. Regarding the current discussion, I would like some sort of community consensus, because at the moment there doesn't appear to be any consensus on the basic meaning of our PAG. I'm not adverse to usage of such sources in general (notably, as I stated in the other discussion, I don't trust Charlie Kirk or anything he's associated with to not have engaged in deceptive editing); however, have been in enough recent discussions to know that there's a diversity of stances. Given this is an issue that has comes up more than once a formal discussion might be good. Something along the lines of 'Are statements by interviewees on SPSs able to be used for uncontroversial statements about themselves, and if so which policiesif anyshould be updated to make that clearer?'
I hope what I've written makes sense. I've just gotten home from one of my children's birthday parties and I'm worn out and tired. If it seems like I haven't understood something you've written, let me know. TarnishedPathtalk 05:42, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
I don't have more reliable sources, I have more of the same; more interviews with Christian influencers. I'm using her words, not theirs, WP:ABOUTSELF, it doesn't prove what she's saying true, but it does IMHO prove that she is saying them.--GRuban (talk) 11:19, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
@GRuban, I'm really torn on this. I don't want to be the stick in the mud that holds up your nomination, but at the same time I think there is quite a divided view on this in the community. I've just placed a note in the nomination stating that it should not be subject to timeout while this issues are discussed. TarnishedPathtalk 11:34, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
Ps, thanks for being a bit of a catalyst for me searching through some of The Unshackled's recent videos. I found a couple of images which I could upload to commons of Auspill, aka Hugo Lennon. That might be an individual I write an article on in the future, if someone doesn't beat me to it. TarnishedPathtalk 11:37, 14 March 2026 (UTC)

Elliot Rodger rewrite

If you are not busy since your other article passed GA, would you want to work together and work on what got the article failed? Peer reviews never really get any attention. Shoot for the Stars (talk) 01:55, 14 March 2026 (UTC)

@Shoot for the Stars, PR's sometimes get quick attention, and other times it takes a while. I do think there is value in it though as far as getting outside perspective/s. Authors involved in trying to review their own work can sometimes be unable to spot all issues as they can read it as they imagine it in their heads and not as it is actually written. Also, I would appreciate an outside perspective if the last GA reviewer was on the mark, or whether they were expecting more than is required from a GA. TarnishedPathtalk 05:46, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
