This page is not unambiguously promotional, because the subject, BAYSIDE BLUE, is not presented merely as an ordinary local bus route, but as a project that attracted exceptional public and institutional attention at the time of its introduction. Its inauguration involved a formal ceremony attended by high-ranking public officials such as the mayor and the director of the municipal transportation bureau, and contemporary accounts indicate that a large number of journalists were present, which is highly unusual for the launch of a normal city bus service.

In addition, the route and its operation are not typical examples of articulated bus deployment in Japan. The service was designed for a specific and unconventional alignment through the central waterfront area, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has highlighted several operational characteristics of this project. While articulated buses are gradually being introduced nationwide, this case appears to have been treated as a model project with distinctive technical and operational features.

Regarding the concern about promotional tone, I would like to explain my use of sources and wording. In the first half of the article, I relied mainly on official administrative records and minutes of discussions between the city administration and the municipal assembly. In the latter part, when positive evaluations are mentioned, I have tried to attribute them explicitly to named officials or published sources rather than presenting them in Wikipedia’s own voice. For this reason, I am unsure which specific passages are considered promotional.

If there are concrete sections that appear problematic, or if there are specific suggestions on how the wording could be made more neutral and encyclopedic, I would be very grateful for detailed guidance. I am fully willing to revise or remove any sections as needed in order to improve the article.Galactic Center Radio Arc (talk) 14:15, 22 January 2026 (UTC)

Proposal to remove the "More citations needed" tag in route section

I would like to suggest the possible removal of the “additional citations for verification” tag in the Route alignment paragraph, as I believe the requested work has now been completed.

In revising this section, I primarily relied on the most geographically precise route map published by the city and used by the Transportation Bureau in official council documents. For locations where the route has changed, I added specific sources documenting those changes. I also cross-checked the relationship between landmarks and the route using the official tourist route map, and confirmed street names and turning geometries using Google Maps.

With these sources now in place, I hope that the route description can be independently verified by reading the paragraph together with its citations.

As I have a conflict of interest, I will not remove the tag myself. However, I would be very grateful if another editor with time could review the route description and consider whether the tag can now be removed. If any parts still lack sufficient sourcing, I would appreciate being informed so that I can try to address them.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Galactic Center Radio Arc (talk) 11:22, 24 January 2026 (UTC)

@Galactic Center Radio Arc: I've removed the tag, as there are now plenty of citations. By the way, I don't think you need all the Google Maps citations to the individual bus stop locations - the Yokohama local government source outlining the route is good enough for verifiability, and it is debatable whether the Google Maps sources pass Wikipedia:Reliable sources. Also, consider adding the {{Edit COI}} template for future requests so that they get noticed. I just happened to notice this request after browsing around my recent contributions, but this is unfortunately the exception rather than the norm. (However, be warned that the backlog for edit requests is very high.) Best regards — Mr. Stradivarius  talk  15:50, 30 January 2026 (UTC)
@Mr. Stradivarius Thank you very much for your response. I wasn’t aware that such a convenient template existed, so I appreciate you pointing it out. I will be sure to use it the next time I edit an article where there may be a potential conflict of interest.
Thank you also for your advice regarding the use of Google Maps as a source. I wasn’t entirely sure how much sourcing was appropriate in this case, so I added it provisionally, but I agree that it is cleaner to omit it. Galactic Center Radio Arc (talk) 04:04, 31 January 2026 (UTC)

    • Comment: Personally, I prefer the first proposal, as articulated buses are generally intended for rapid, high-capacity transport and therefore usually operate on straighter alignments. In that respect, I find this route to be especially unusual and noteworthy. Thank you very much.

  • @Galactic Center Radio Arc: Very promising first DYK article. My main request is that you go back and vastly simplify the "History" section. At the moment it has excessive background detail about every single twist and turn that went into the planning process, mostly sourced to essentially primary sources. This is probably one of the hardest things to overcome in COI situations – you're so close to it, of course you think it's important but actually maybe not all of it matters for Wikipedia readers – which is unfortunate because it's pushing down and burying all the interesting content about Bayside Blue lower down in the article. If you need a second opinion, you could ask for help at WikiProject Japan or one of the public transportation sub-groups. Cielquiparle (talk) 17:59, 17 February 2026 (UTC)
    • @Cielquiparle: Thank you very much for your thoughtful advice; I sincerely appreciate it. In fact, I also felt that the History section had become somewhat verbose. At the same time, I believe that the route—rather unusual for an articulated bus—is one of the service’s most distinctive features. I was concerned that readers might not reach the route description if the earlier section remained too long, and therefore considered rearranging the structure, such as switching the positions of the History and Route sections.I have attempted to condense the information as much as possible while staying within a range that I believe does not affect the explanations of transport and urban planning. Has the article become easier to read as a result? If you have any further suggestions, I would be most grateful to hear them.Galactic Center Radio Arc (talk) 14:05, 18 February 2026 (UTC)

  • Article is new enough, long enough. It is well sourced and appears to be copyvio free. The main problem was COI editing which led to excessive detail about the transportation planning process, but this has beeen addressed (though we should still add the COI template to the article Talk page). QPQ is not required, so it's down to the hooks. ALT0 is interesting but the content and source have been removed by AirshipJungleman29 as unreliable, likely due to the claim being sourced to a YouTuber's own channel. Google Translate of the caption provided above also suggests that the claim is oversimplified/overstated in the hook when the actual quote clearly includes the qualifier "probably". ALT1 sounds like marketing and ALT2 isn't great because it highlights the COI issue. So my inclination is try to "save" ALT0 in another way. @Galactic Center Radio Arc: Any suggestions for how we could rework the hook citing another source and making sure it corresponds to a sentence in the article?
