Eagle River doesn't have and has never had a hospital, so anytime an editor inserts a claim of someone having been born there, it's an immediate red flag. A NewsBank search would indicate that he was actually born in Anchorage proper. I referred to Kelsey Griffin in my edit summary. An editor claimed she was born in Eagle River, backed by suspect sourcing, only to find out she was born in Anchorage proper as backed by more credible sources. Back to Brian Swanson, a combination of the NewsBank paywall and an extremely limited amount of actual biographical information (as opposed to the usual topical POV/trivia) in this article makes it hard for me to say for sure that we're talking about the same person.
