Most common use and meaning?

What is the most common use and meaning of CDU in English? Google says "The most common use and meaning of CDU in English is the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (Christlich Demokratische Union Deutschlands), a major centre-right, conservative political party in Germany. It is frequently referred to in English-language news, academic, and political contexts regarding German and European politics." ~2025-40839-52 (talk) 08:49, 27 February 2026 (UTC)

CDUCDU (disambiguation)CDU (disambiguation) – CDU should be a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT to the Christian Democratic Union of Germany per WikiNav (gets over 80% outgoing pageviews). Jeffrey34555 (talk) 06:24, 7 March 2026 (UTC)

@Jeffrey34555 it's not 80% of outgoing pageviews, it's 80% of identifiable outgoing clickstreams in January '26. There are also filtered clickstreams, so the comparison isn't 200 : 247, it's 200 : (247 + 91) = ~59%. We don't know how many of the filtered clicksteams had the same destination, but it's not known to be many, or likely to be many.
Likewise, when we mention pageviews, there's also the separate ratio between outgoing clicks and incoming pageviews. The latter is shown as 173 and 264 at WikiNav, but is actually 346 when incoming redirect traffic is accounted for (per pageviews FAQ). So that ratio can only be estimated at around 200 : 346 = ~58%.
Would it help if this was better documented at WP:DPT? --Joy (talk) 07:40, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
