Overlinking
In accordance with MOS:OVERLINK, I think some links here are excessive. In particular, Paraguay and Southern Hemisphere seems to fit right in with the guideline's examples of well-known countries, widow is a very well-known concept and its page does not contain any carbunclo-related information except for one sentence linking to this page, a shovel is a well-known concept to say the least whose article does not appear to contain carbunclo-related information, and the same goes for coal, and to a slightly lesser extent ruby and garnet. The result of the move request was: Moved to Carbuncle (legendary creature). Rearranging the other carbuncle pages can be done in a separate discussion. (closed by non-admin page mover) — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (投稿) 23:51, 19 July 2022 (UTC)
Carbunclo → Carbuncle (legendary animal) – "Carbunclo" is the Spanish name (or at least one of them), whereas "Carbuncle" is the English name. The page title should use the English name of the creature (although maintaining a redirect from the Spanish name would still be valuable). - Support Per WP:USEENGLISH, although it should be moved to Carbuncle (legendary creature) instead. I would also support moving Carbuncle to Carbuncle (pathology) and Carbuncle (disambiguation) to Carbuncle per WP:NOPRIMARY. There does not seem to be a primary topic for the term. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 21:57, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
- I have no issue with the title Carbuncle (legendary creature). I was just going by the dabtag used on Carbuncle (disambiguation). I agree with your other move suggestions as well, although those would need to be addressed separately. --SnorlaxMonster 06:41, 16 July 2022 (UTC)
AI images not total banned
I'm crying foul for the removal of my AI-generated image in this edit, citing WP:AI-IMAGES since the policy "generally" discourages (especially discourages WP:BLP and named people) but is "subject to common sense and with a number of exceptions", and I deem that exception apply.
I also consider it highly inappropriate for someone to open a WP:SPA account User talk:~2026-16865-90 just to make this 1 edit (as of this writing). --Kiyoweap (talk) 11:43, 24 April 2026 (UTC)
- WP:AI-IMAGES is quite clear that AI-generated images are usually not permitted, unless there are compelling reasons to justify their inclusion. The policy indicates that the only explicit exception is to support discussing AI or specific AI-generated images (which are not applicable to this article), and any other exception is subject to community discussion. What is the reason an exception should be made here?
- WP:AI-IMAGES also notes that the fact that "no free non-AI-generated images are available" is not a valid justification for using AI-generated images. But even ignoring that, while this article currently lacks an image of the carbuncle itself, I imagine there are public domain images of carbuncles that exist (simply due to the age of the legend), but they haven't been uploaded to Wikimedia Commons yet.
