COI Concern

This page has several examples of both point of view writing and original research. The first paragraph informs us what this corporation's "strategy emphasizes" and other information that reads like advertising, with no other summary or sources. Substantial space is devoted to the precise amounts of money that the corporation that has raised, which also reads like advertising material. I consider this a COI concern rather than just an NPOV or NOR concern because one of the major early contributors to this page had the user name "Charlesbank" and never edited any other pages, which is pretty on the nose. - Astrophobe (talk) 02:06, 18 October 2019 (UTC)

Hello, I work for Charlesbank Capital Partners. I noticed that there's a tag on the current page flagging issues with the content, so I've been working on a redraft which includes sources, updated information, and neutral language. I hope you will consider taking a look and implementing the new draft if you see fit:

Charlesbank Capital Partners is an American private equity investment firm based in Boston and New York City that specializes in the middle market. The firm has $22B of total assets across three investment strategies: flagship middle market private equity, lower middle market technology private equity and middle market opportunistic credit.^[1]

Background

The founders of Charlesbank came together as Harvard Private Capital Group to manage the private equity investment portfolio for the Harvard University endowment.^[2]^[3] In 1998, they left the endowment to launch Charlesbank Capital Partners as an independent firm.^[4]

In 2016 Charlesbank established a credit investment strategy, and in 2019, it added a technology opportunities strategy.^[5]^[2] Michael Choe succeeded Michael Eisenson, a founding partner, as CEO in 2017.^[6]

Funds

Across its three complementary strategies the firm has over $22 billion in Total Assets and employs over 180 people.^[7]

Flagship Private Equity Fund X – closed in January 2021, at its hard cap of $4.1B^[8]

Credit Opportunities Fund III – closed in January 2024, above its target at $1.5B^[9]

Technology Opportunities Fund II – closed in June 2024, surpassing its initial hard cap at $1.275 B^[10]

Portfolio

Since its 1998 inception, Charlesbank has developed middle market experience and specific sector expertise with a focus on: Business & Consumer Services, Healthcare, Industrial, and Technology & Technology Infrastructure.^[2] Investments include Aprio^[11] and Front Row Group^[12] for the Flagship strategy, Learfield for Credit Opportunities,^[13] and Implan Group for Technology Opportunities.^[14]
