Tong oil?
Tong oil is mentioned in this article. Is it an error for "tung oil"? --BenjaminBarrett12 (talk) 09:17, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
- Tung oil is the error but, yes, they're the same thing. — LlywelynII 13:42, 12 September 2025 (UTC)
Copyright violation
The section "Today" of this article seems to be lifted directly form Within the walls of Nanking by Alice Tisdale Hobart, Macmillan (1929). Rincewind42 (talk) 13:47, 1 April 2014 (UTC)
- Which wouldn't matter at all even if true, since works in the public domain are outside copyright protection. Should still be sourced and updated, of course. — LlywelynII 13:44, 12 September 2025 (UTC)
Age of the walls
Plaques on the wall clearly state somewhere between most and all of the wall's facing (i.e. the parts that aren't just giant piles of dirt) were reconstructed in the 1980s and 1990s. The article doesn't seem to mention the repeated breaches, Taipings, or reconstruction at all, let alone its major extent. That should be fixed with appropriate cites.
That said, "city wall of Nanjing" isn't limited to the current tourist attraction. The article should cover the history of the city's walls from the Three Kingdoms onward. — LlywelynII 13:35, 12 September 2025 (UTC)
