Split discussion

The result of this discussion was article split. Mrastron (talk) 23:21, 25 December 2025 (UTC)

The current article has a primary focus on the Crown Range Road (former State Highway 89), however the article short description and lead paragraph refers to the range itself. I propose this article be split into two articles:

  • Crown Range should focus on the mountain range itself and the three major peaks potentially not notable enough to warrant their own article. Knuckle Peak, Crown Peak, Middle Peak I would say do not quite meet WP:NGEO on their own, but together as the range they would, while another ~15 minor peaks also form the range.
  • Crown Range Road would focus on the road itself and it's status as a former state highway, and would receive the bulk of the text in this article. The road certainly meets WP:HIGHWAYS and the GNG regardless, with plentiful sources.

  • Seems fair. Grutness...wha? 03:14, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
Yeah I'd support this. I suspect a lot of the content would need to be rewritten but that doesn't affect the rationale for the split. Turnagra (talk) 18:08, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
