Merger proposal

propose that New Cubbington is merged into this article. As an area of Cubbinton, this is the appropriate article. It is unreferenced, and currently fails notability. Widefox (talk) 22:12, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

As an individual, I used to think this. However, now sharing some of the tasks for a neighbouring county project, the 'parent' projects further up in the Wiki hierarchy have made it fairly clear that if more than two or three lines can be written about a place - any place - it shold have its own article. If its name appears on a printed map, that is a good enoough reliable source for the 'cities' project (who insist that even a 2-house hamlet should be considered a city ! You may like to check this out (it covers merging stubs too):

Thanks for that. Information point - the area is marked "Cubbington", "New Cubbington" is not listed on Google Maps, or streetmap.co.uk (OS map). I stand by the merge proposal. Widefox (talk) 09:21, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

Warwickshire Beer Company

The following is not related to Cubbington and arguably receives overemphasis (say compared to Thwaites and other businesses), but may be useful to any subsequent article on this company, so out-take saved here:

There are currently three pubs run by the company, the first of which was purchased in 2000 and the second in 2004. The first two are both called The Market Tavern. One of these is located in Southam and the other in Atherstone. The third pub currently called Bodaceas is in Atherstone and was taken over in 2007. Selected Asda and Threshers stores also stock certain WBC beers.^[1] Widefox (talk) 12:13, 3 March 2010 (UTC)

Much of the brewing equipment is second hand (standard practise in small companies) the hot liquor tanks came from a Scottish and Newcastle brewery, the fermenters are old dairy tanks.^[2] The company started with six barrels but currently have around 26.^[3]. At present there are eight types of bottled beer produced by the brewery along with the capability to produce bespoke beverages, that is brewed to the purchases liking. One of the best known examples of this was Brakes Fluid made to celebrate Leamington F.C.'s (nickname The Brakes) FA Cup run in 2005. In 2003 a special brew Old Warwick was produced to raise money for Guide Dogs for the Blind^[4] something which is now an ongoing process. Nine beers are available in barrels. All WBC drinks are approved of by CAMRA the British Campaign for Real Ale.

There doesn't need to be. Because the guidelines are clear, the edit was a correct WP:BOLD and was not controversial. BTW: As I understand it, it was not so much a merge, as a creation of a brewery article, and a deletion from this one.--Kudpung (talk) 01:23, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
