Anti-imperialism

DPP is not fully anti-imperialism. It just opposes the Chinese Imperialism and without criticism on other Imperialism. 2600:1016:B076:5BF0:BC97:7FF:FE33:6B02 (talk) 21:34, 7 April 2025 (UTC)

While many political parties and organizations in the Third World, including Houthis only criticize Israel and Western imperialism, they do not criticize PRC or Russian imperialism, there is an "anti-imperialism" link in the Houthis article's infobox. The imperialists who threaten Taiwan are the People's Republic of China, not the United States. ProgramT (talk) 07:12, 30 January 2026 (UTC)

Political position

@Anchluss: According to WP:RSUW, the DPP's political position is 'centre-left', never 'centre to centre-left'. Only WP:SYNTH is the example of a social liberal party in the US Democratic Party or Liberal Party of Canada on this issue; DPP is also considered a social democratic (even "socialist") political party (see Democratic Progressive Party#Ideology and policies).^[1]^[2]^[3] The Democratic Progressive Party article has long said that the political position of the infobox is 'centre-left', and I am completely opposed to changing it.

Comparing by referring to other social liberal political party articles is WP:SYNTH, and not all social liberal parties are standard 'centre to centre-left': Russia's Yabloko (political position: "centre-left") is seen as a more progressive, [culturally] left and anti-establishment than A Just Russia (political position: "centre to centre-left") . DPP is left-leaning than the "centre to center-left" parties such as the Hong Kong Democratic Party and the New Macau Association. Taiwan politics is more appropriate to compare with Hong Kong/Macao than the United States/Canada. ProgramT (talk) 07:14, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
