Who?
Who built this wall? --''Paul, in Saudi'' (talk) 13:16, 7 June 2019 (UTC)
Was it in the city at the time it was built?
What does this mean? "The Eight Mile/Wyoming neighborhood, where this wall is located ... is located outside the city". It's certainly inside the city today. Was it outside at the time it was built, and the sentence should be past tense? Or was it inside, and "outside" is just wrong? GA-RT-22 (talk) 22:59, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's confusing. The neighborhood was annexed by Detroit in 1926 - that's after Black residents had moved to the area, but before the construction of the wall. I rewrote. Andrew Jameson (talk) 15:34, 24 November 2024 (UTC)

Detroit Wall → Birwood Wall – "Birwood Wall" appears to be the name used in most contemporary sources, including the National Register of Historic Places listing, the Michigan state historical marker at the Alfonso Wells Memorial Playground, and the 2019 book Detroit's Birwood Wall: Hatred & Healing in the West Eight Mile Community. DontCallMeLateForDinner (talk) 03:05, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
- Support: A quick spot check shows "Birwood Wall" is far more common in contemporary sources than "Detroit Wall," so this seems logical per WP:COMMONNAME. (I'd note that the NRHP tends to default to historic names in use during the place's period of significance as opposed to the contemporary common name, so that might not be the best source on its own; however, in this case the NRHP name aligns with current usage.)
