Talk:Digital media player

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Game-consoles, DVD/Blu-ray players, and Smart TV is not in-scope for this article

It is also common to find digital media player functionality integrated in other consumer-electronic appliances today, such as video game consoles (for example, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360), DVD players, set-top boxes, or even Smart TVs. These are however not in-scope for this article for this article because their primary functions are either to play video games or to watch broadcast television, and their features to play or stream locally stored content, if they have any, are only secondary features. Just as we do not list the digital media players that you can play games on as video game consoles. Gamester17 (talk) 19:15, 7 November 2013 (UTC)

Merging other digital media player for TV articles to this "Digital Media Player" article

HD media player, Net Connected Media Player, and Digital media receiver articles are all basically on the exact same subject (digital media players for TV) so I I am merging all those topics to this Digital Media Player article with the aim to consolidate all articles about digital media players for TV into this one, with the exception of portable digital media players which should remain in the Mobile digital media player article even if they can be connected to a TV (as it is not the primary purpose of a portable/mobile media player).
