needed? —Cote d'Azur (talk) 08:09, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
- Absolutely, hadn't even thought of that. I'll make one later modeled off Template:Damascus or Template:Islamabad. Elspamo4 (talk) 08:38, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
- Perfect. —Cote d'Azur (talk) 08:41, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
Why is this article named "Ad-Dawhah", while the one for the city is named "Doha"?
Both are the same name. Shouldn't they both be written the same on Wikipedia? The official site is also called "Doha Municipality", by the way.
Tagging @Elspamo4 and @DervotNum4, as you two are the ones I see active on this WikiProject. How would we go about changing the name of the article? I've never done such a thing.
Thanks and good tidings, غوّاص العلم (talk) 13:16, 30 November 2025 (UTC)
- nvm regarding the official site thing btw lol, I just looked again and realized it's of a place in Palestine. Good to know they have one over there as well haha, hope they're doing well (as well as possible considering...). غوّاص العلم (talk) 13:21, 30 November 2025 (UTC)
- Good question, not really sure why whoever created it spelled it that way. It's clearly wrong but I never got around to fixing it because I'd also have to fix the wls on the corresponding articles, which would take a while. I can fix it when I have some free time; I also have to change Al Khor to Al Khor and Al Thakhira per official sources. I'll try do so this week. Elspamo4 (talk) 19:40, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
- I wouldn't mind doing this, I just don't know how to lol. If you wanted to teach me how to fish on this one I'd appreciate it. Or is it a matter of permissions?
- Thanks, غوّاص العلم (talk) 07:24, 2 December 2025 (UTC)
- I don't remember the process on desktop but on the mobile version it's as simple as clicking on the rightmost link on the navigational bar and selecting "Move" and then typing in the name of the new article, in this case "Doha Municipality". All pages that link to this article will then be redirected to the new page, but will still have the old name so that needs to be updated as well; an easy way to do this is to click the "what links here" tab and then Ctrl+f and change instances "Ad Dawhah" to "Doha". IIRC you don't need any special permissions to move pages. Elspamo4 (talk) 19:47, 2 December 2025 (UTC)
- @غوّاص العلم: FYI, I went ahead and fixed the title and went through all the linked articles and fixed the names as per our discussion. Everything should be in order now. :) Elspamo4 (talk) 07:18, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
- Sweet! And thanks for explaining the process :) غوّاص العلم (talk) 08:42, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
