Neologism?
Do any editors have verification that this is a genuine term and not a neologism? The article has no sources and a quick search online only reveals the definition related to the engraving technique. PaleCloudedWhite (talk) 00:32, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
- I guess I was off Wikipedia when this Q first came up. It seems I started this stub 20 years ago, when I was a different person and Wikipedia was a different place, so I don't have much of an attachment to it now or a strong desire to have improving it on my todo list.
- But at least in answer to this question, and to the PROD: yes, this is a genuine term, I picked it up because it's in (or was, in ~2000-03, in) both GCSE and A-level geography syllabuses - so in Google Books there are several British school textbooks that can serve as sources for the term. It looks like there are few journal articles to, if you search for "dry point" with a keyword like "settlement" or "site". It's also not uncommon when describing individual settlements (like the 3 examples in the article) so should be possible to find good sources for those, albeit it'll need more time than I have right now.
