Grammar for correction
Request to change this sentence: "In 1951, Gein started received a farm subsidy from the federal government. He occasionally worked for the local municipal road crew and crop-threshing crews in the Plainfield area. Sometime between 1946 and 1956, he sold an 80-acre (32 ha) parcel of land that Henry had owned"...
It should read ""In 1951, Gein started TO receive a farm..." Wflowerday (talk) 11:50, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
Lampshade source
The source for the lampshade seems to not include any reliable information about the lampshade. It appears to be an archive of a blog post. Perhaps an excerpt from a newspaper archive would be a better fit. 2601:646:9080:780:75:E04C:BDAB:322F (talk) 02:39, 17 October 2025 (UTC)

Change to “Jeffrey Epstein was a CIA informant” as well as the youtube link. Its irrelevant and vandalism. 2600:4040:5F2D:8800:841A:E072:934A:136 (talk) 04:20, 17 October 2025 (UTC)

Remove “ Jeffrey Epstein was a CIA informant. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBMvvyauJ3E&t=10s” and replace with “null” Content is clearly vandalism on a page popular due to Netflix’s Monster: The Ed Gein Story. 2601:646:480:505F:505B:73C5:2248:82B2 (talk) 04:21, 17 October 2025 (UTC)

There is no credible or factual evidence that Ed Gein was consuming pulp fiction, and the cite source provided doesn’t adequately support this claim either Nocttt (talk) 06:17, 18 October 2025 (UTC)
Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Day Creature (talk) 06:46, 18 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Day Creature, you are asking them to prove a negative. The citation in the article states a specific source, but doesn't provide a page. What pages, or what section of the cited work, support what this article currently states? 2603:7080:9207:AD00:B8E7:7B37:A506:325 (talk) 19:51, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
- Page 2 of the Rickels source cited in reference 21 states that Gein "was a close reader of sensationalized accounts of Ilse Koch." Day Creature (talk) 23:00, 23 October 2025 (UTC)

Edit Request
Reference # 1 Gein is misspelled as Gien AGTWick671 (talk) 17:01, 18 October 2025 (UTC)
- The misspelling is by Wisconsin Historical Society on their webpage. The edit request should be addressed to them. --Naaman Brown (talk) 19:26, 28 October 2025 (UTC)

Point of the census record?
A screenshot of the census record is included in his early life section. But it doesn't appear to add anything. The caption does not further the article. It seems completely superfluous. Either remove it, or integrate it. 2603:7080:9207:AD00:B8E7:7B37:A506:325 (talk) 19:46, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
Awkward wording
"Gein brothers' father died" George? If so, just say George. 2603:7080:9207:AD00:B8E7:7B37:A506:325 (talk) 19:48, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
Sensationalism
The only cited source for the "woman suit" idea says: "Rather than get a sex-change operation, he simply made himself a female body suit and mask out of the skin, and he would wear this outfit to dance around outside. Sometimes he even donned it to dig up a grave."
This can't possibly be called credible. That's a nonsense ghost story that isn't plausible (he wore human skin in public and walked around outside in it? no.), and includes a nasty snipe at trans people for no reason. 169.233.113.53 (talk) 17:34, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
- "One of the garments--if it can be called that--found in the home was the complete front skin of a woman including the breasts. It had a cord to suspend it around the neck. Gein told Chase that on moonlit nights he would put this on and prance around the yard." -- Judge Robert H. Gollmar, "Edward Gein", Pinnacle Books, 1989. Page 43.
Ed Gein was not called "America's Most Bizarre Murderer" for nothing. "The yard" was the yard of Gein's remote farmhouse at night with no public around to see him. In other confessions Gein said he would wear a woman's hair as a wig and a woman's face skin as a mask from other grave robberies with the chest skin, all of which were inventoried as physical evidence. (Gein was arrested by Wautoma County Deputy Dan Chase who participated in questioning. Gollmar was the judge most involved in the hearings and trials of Ed Gein.) --Naaman Brown (talk) 19:19, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
Misrepresenting quote
Apologies if this is out of line or done to death already, but the presentation of this quote is misleading:
"Soon after his mother's death, Gein began to create a "woman suit" so that "he could become his mother—to literally crawl into her skin."[27]"
The woman suit is factual, as mentioned in the talk topic Sensationalism. The reasoning is speculation from the article. This very well could have been his reasoning but this quote & citation pairing is far from strong enough, I believe, to warrant the factual presentation the article currently has.
I unfortunately do not have the time to go into depth in the tone style guides and rework this however, it just struck me as rather definitive for something that could only be 1) connected to a reported admission from the man in question or 2) speculation ~2025-32620-41 (talk) 22:29, 10 November 2025 (UTC)
Frank Worden inconsistencies?
Was Frank Worden a deputy sheriff [crimes> confirmed], or a fire chief [aftermath> fate of Gein's property]? ~2025-41193-37 (talk) 04:12, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
- Frank Worden was a deputy sheriff during the discovery of his Mom's body at Gein's farm 16 Nov 1957.
- He was Fire Chief for the town of Plainfield during the burning of the Gein farmhouse 20 Mar 1958. --Naaman Brown (talk) 05:31, 27 December 2025 (UTC)
