The proposed text expands the History section using Philadelphia Inquirer coverage (already cited on the article), the Hidden City Philadelphia feature (already in Further Reading), and the company's own history page for non-contentious operational facts per WP:ABOUTSELF. I have excluded promotional language and am not proposing the "oldest refinery" claim, which lacks independent sourcing.

Eastern Smelting was founded in 1892 in downtown Philadelphia by Isaac Garfield.[1] In 1928 the company was acquired by the Garfield family and renamed Garfield Smelting and Refining.[2] Amid the Great Depression, the business relocated in 1932 to a warehouse on South 18th Street.[2]
For several decades the company also manufactured silverware under the name Garfield's Antique Silver, which remained active until 1951.[2] The company later moved to 1215 Cherry Street in Philadelphia's central business district.[2]
In the late 1970s, the surrounding area was selected as the site of the Pennsylvania Convention Center, and Garfield became the first business relocated by the city to accommodate the project.[3] Matt Garfield became chief executive officer in 1981. In 1985 the company moved to its current headquarters at 810 East Cayuga Street.[4]
Beginning in 2014, Garfield expanded internationally, launching dental refining services in Canada, followed by Australia in 2016 and New Zealand in 2021.[2]
